UPDATED – AEW Reportedly Removed Access To Journalists Challenging Them

UPDATE: Jonathon Snowden deleted his tweet where he confirmed that AEW were removing journalists access. He called out Bodyslam on Twitter before denying that he ever tweeted those words in relation to AEW media calls. Chris Deez spoke with Snowden who claimed that he regularly deletes tweets as a general rule.

As has become tradition with the company’s events, AEW held a virtual media scrum following Saturday’s All Out. How the company fielded those questions, however, is raising some eyebrows.

Those in the conference had to “raise their hand” to ask a question by clicking a button to be put in the queue. Once the caller, representing a different media outlet, reached the front of the line, they were “called on” or unmuted to ask their question. The media call though ended around 12:50 a.m. ET with AEW Owner Tony Khan leaving a number of questions unanswered.

When it was suggested the company simply ran out of time on the call, Jon Snowden, Senior Writer for Bleacher Report, said AEW was “actively removing” access those with challenging questions.

Kristen Ashly, co-owner of Bell To Belles, said she believes she wasn’t called on due to her criticisms particularly of the AEW Women’s Division.
