According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, the Authors of Pain release was a bit of a surprise, especially as Rezar was cleared to return. The tag-team had not been seen for months since Rezar was injured when paired with Seth Rollins.
Prior to their release, there was talk that Paul Heyman had huge plans for the Authors of Pain. Heyman saw them as a type of “Road Warriors” and it was definitely a surprise to see them let go, especially as they’re so different to everyone else.
