Wade Barrett has signed a new contract with WWE. The former five time Intercontinental Champion recently spoke with Sports Illustrated and confirmed that he had signed a new full-time deal to work as a commentator on NXT.
According to Dave Meltzer, Barrett has signed a one-year announcing deal to work for NXT, with an option to extend the deal should both sides agree.
Barrett initially returned on a one off basis filling in for Mauro Ranallo, but it has now become a permanent arrangement following Mauro’s WWE departure. The former leader of Nexus will work full time with Beth Phoenix and Vic Joseph as part of the NXT announce team.
Will we one day see Wade step back into a WWE ring as a wrestler? If he did it could be ‘Bad News’ for his opponents.
