Stephanie McMahon Sells 43% Of Her WWE Stock

According to a SEC listing posted today on WWE’s corporate website, Stephanie McMahon Levesque has sold off a staggering 43% of her WWE stocks.

The filing states that she sold 57,573 of her Class A Common Stock at $39.18 per share, amounting to $2,255,710.

Dave Meltzer commented on the news via Twitter today, noting that McMahon sold at the worst possible time due to WWE stock being the lowest it has been in some time.

Brandon Thurston, a wrestling business researcher for Wrestlenomics tweeted the following observations:

Unless it's Vince making a major sale, there's usually no disclosure about why the sales are made. These moves may make good fodder for jokes and newzsite #content, but I wouldn't read much into it. Stephanie, after Vince, remains the 2nd largest non-institutional shareholder.

Stephanie owned 1,977,382 shares. She's since made 3 sales that would bring her remaining shares down to 1,885,387, more than 2% of all diluted WWE shares. Market value of those shares as of today's close, $73.9 million.

Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT was quick to remind fans that Stephanie’s husband Paul Levesque (Triple H) made a similar move back in August, selling off some of his stock too.
