The Undertaker Discusses 2K Gaming Process
The Undertaker has been in many WWE video games since 1992 first appearing in Superstars 2 and WWF Super WrestleMania. ‘The Phenom’ has appeared in every WWE game since then, including the latest one, WWE 2k Battlegrounds, even appearing in the advert fir the game playing it with his daughter and his wife Michelle McCool.
Speaking on My Mom’s Basement podcast, ‘The Deadman’ discussed how things have changed in regards to his appearances in video games over the years.
“To realize where we started in the video game process is nuts. It used to take two or three days in a studio, green screens, getting hooked up to cables and going through our moves to nowadays where they put you in a wall of cameras and get every possible angle of you. It’s amazing how far the process has come through my 30 years. It’s a lot better product and it’s a lot less time consuming on my end and they make you look a little better, which is a bonus [laughs]. They don’t show quite as many miles as the real thing,”
The Undertaker is arguably the most legendary superstar in WWE history. For many years he did not do any media appearances and would never break character. That changed dramatically in the lead up and after his much talked about ‘Boneyard match’.
He would go on to star in his own documentary series called The Last Ride, on the WWE network. The series received rave reviews and we saw a side to The Undertaker we have never seen before. Now he is able to conduct interviews and appear in adverts like this completely out of character. Weather it is The Undertaker, Mean Mark, or simply Mark Calloway, there will never be another like him in the wrestling business.
