It’s been five weeks since we last saw Cody Rhodes on AEW. After losing the TNT Championship to Brodie Lee, who continued to destroy him after the match, it wasn’t clear when he would return. Well on Wednesday’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite we got our answer.
Cody returned to Dynamite with a whole new look and attitude. Cody would receive a challenge from Brodie Lee to a Dog Collar match after Cody tore through The Dark Order. Cody returned after Brodie Lee defeated Orange Cassidy. Cody’s return brought a new hair colour, new gear and attitude taking smack about the Dark Order.
Brodie Lee then held a segment backstage berating Cody Rhodes return, and spoke about the “audacity” of how he made his entrance. It was during this segment that the challenge for the Dog Collar match occurred, with Brodie demanding an answer next week.
