Daniel Puder Discusses Not Getting His Tough Enough Million Dollars

Chris Van Vliet interviewed Daniel Puder this week for his YouTube channel.

Daniel Puder is best known for having won the WWE’s $1,000,000 Tough Enough, the fourth Tough Enough competition. He has also worked for Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Puder talks about winning WWE’s $1,000,000 Tough Enough but not actually getting a million dollars, the incident with Kurt Angle, Dana White’s plan for him to fight in UFC, his undefeated MMA career, and much more.

Daniel Puder talked about not receiving his $1 million contract after winning Tough Enough:

“The biggest part was after about 9 months into the contract, they offered me a contract that was crap. I called my coaches and a couple of my mentors and told them this is what happened. They said if they don’t respect you in the beginning, they are not going to respect you long term. I heard different stories of that with other wrestlers. I made a decision that if a company doesn’t take care of me now, they are not going to take care of me in the future. I was young and took advice. I could have stayed for $50,000 a year. It was guaranteed $250,000 for one year and they let me go after the first year. They offered me another deal and because I didn’t take it, then they let me go.  It was a little shady on that.  What they should have done was release me out of my current contract and then offer me a contract. At the end of the day, I talked to a few lawyers and tried to find a law firm that is connected in Connecticut that will sue them on contingency. I called around and nobody would do anything. I said I just want to be protected on this deal. I want the deal. I called 3 or 4 firms and I realized it was not worth my time. If somebody wants to screw me or not take care of me, I don’t want to be associated with them.”
