Roman Reigns Says “Raw Is Serving Fast Food, Smackdown Is Serving Filet Mignon”
Roman Reigns made his return to WWE and to Smackdown at Summerslam, since his return Smackdown has arguably been the best show WWE have to offer. Smackdown are offering nuanced and long term stories right now, with Roman’s story with his cousin Jey Uso, Bayley and Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss and The Fiend, while RAW simply isn’t offering the same excellent storytelling.
Fans have complained that many storylines on RAW are not explained well enough, or aren’t as interesting as the storylines on SmackDown and Roman Reigns agrees.
Appearing on a Mania Club meet-and-greet, Reigns compared storytelling to cooking, saying SmackDown is serving up the better quality product.
“We got a bunch of fast food fans and they complain that they want stories and well thought out stories to develop. When you start doing that for them, they want it all now. My people, I’m cooking a steak. We’re creating an elaborate omelet and we’re in the process of cracking eggs right now. You’re not going to get it quite yet. We’re gonna let the steaks stay on the grill. If you want your cheeseburger, watch Raw. SmackDown, we do filet mignon,”
Elsewhere during the meet-and-greet, Reigns asked fans to be patient when it comes to getting new music, saying he wanted more layers to the story revealed before he went all the way with new music. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
Roman Reigns also appeared on the most recent edition of ‘After The Bell’ podcast, and made some very interesting comments about storytelling, and why he missed Wrestlemania 36, you can check those comments out here.
The ‘Big Dog’ is back, and he has brought ‘The Special Council to the Tribal Chief’ Paul Heyman with him, and now that he is Universal Champion, Smackdown is his island now.
