Major Changes For NXT UK Backstage And New Head Writer Announced
According to a report from Inside the Ropes Wrestling, there has been a huge shakeup within NXT UK. NXT UK has only recently come back on our screens following the ongoing pandemic. The report states that former PROGRESS co-owner Glen Joseph, who was a producer, has left due to “personal reasons”. In his place, PROGRESS founder Jim Smallman has now been announced as new head writer.
There is no real change to the top level leadership as Jim Smallman will still report to Matt Bloom and the legend Shawn Michaels. Both Matt and Shawn run NXT UK directly from the performance centre in Orlando.
According to report, the NXT UK talent attended a Zoom meeting to share the news. Glen Joseph had to step down from his position with PROGRESS due to the #SpeakingOut movement. Whilst Jim Smallman decided to leave PROGRESS on his own back in December, to take the role on NXT UK full time.
