WCW Legend Teases A Name Change
Crowbar, former WCW Hardcore, Tag Team and Cruiserweight champion, has teased a name change on social media recently.
The wrestling star, who has also performed under the name Devon Storm, has updated his Twitter profile to read: “Crowbar” (for now).”
The wrestler, who also appeared in the WWF, ECW, TNA and on the independent circuit, has been posting promos on his Twitter account using the hashtag ‘Timeless’.
In the promos, the titles of which include ‘Ode to Cornette,’ ‘Dives’ and ‘Hypocrites,’ he delivers scathing critiques of contemporary fan behaviour – or what he refers to as “the Demographic”. The black and white promos, which feature the wrestler delivering slow, deliberate promos whilst holding a glass of wine, have gained praise on social media, and have been widely shared and commented on. Each promo is accompanied the same piece of classical music: Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major.
Crowbar has also posted a ticker-style countdown clock that ends with the word ‘Timeless’. The implied name change happened after a Twitter user named @JZ_Flair commented that the wrestler needed a more eloquent name. Crowbar responded:
Bodyslam.net will continue to monitor this story… on behalf of the demographic.
