The excellent PPV Clash of Champions Gold Rush aired on the 27th September. During this PPV, there was a match between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in an Ambulance match. The match involved multiple returns and payback from legends such as Christian, Ric Flair, Big Show and Shawn Michaels. With the way the match ended, plenty of people believed this was leading to Randy Orton being written off WWE TV.
Courtesy of Ringside News, a member of the creative team has wiped those fears away. The creative team member stated that he wasn’t being written off TV at all, but they wanted to wrap up the story with Drew McIntyre in the best way possible.
Randy Orton is apparently going to feature heavily in WWE’s storylines going forward. The match ending was a way in bringing all of Randy Orton’s actions back to haunt him. Hopefully WWE can continue to use the Viper in the excellent fashion they have.
