Vince McMahon had previously praised WWE Superstar Peyton Royce on a recent conference call with WWE’s creative team, saying that she was going to be a singles star.
It wasn’t long after that we saw WWE book a storyline which eventually saw The IIconics split up, as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay lost a match against The Riott Squad which carried the stipulation that the losing team must split up. It appeared as though Peyton’s singles push was revving up as she defeated her former teammate Billie Kay the following week, thus beginning her appearing on TV in a singles role.
However, fans of late have noticed Peyton’s absence from WWE television, which has brought up questions as to whether or not Vince McMahon has forgotten about her push.
According to a report from Steve Carrier and Ringside News, they were told that instead of Peyton’s push being forgotten, it is more along the lines of that WWE has instead decided to “drop it.”
“We’ve been asked about Peyton Royce and her push. Some said Vince McMahon “forgot” about her. We’ve been told that it’s more along the lines of they decided to “drop it.” So, why did they break up the IIconics? Your guess is as good as everyone else’s at this point.”
