AEW, NJPW Stars Urged To Get Covid Test
A wrestler who performed at an event with Hall of Fame legends, NWA, NJPW and AEW stars has tested positive for Covid-19 – sparking concerns that the three day series of shows could act as a ‘super-spreader’ for the virus within the wrestling community.
Dan The Dad, an independent wrestler and promoter who performed on the second day of Game Changer Wrestling’s ‘The Collective’ three-day event, received a positive Covid-19 test result today.
Glory Pro Wrestling’s ‘Are ya Wrestling Son?’ event that Dan the Dad wrestled on was headlined by NJPW star ACH. AEW stars Marko Stunt and Sonny Kiss performed earlier in the day, while Orange Cassidy wrestled later.
Joey Janela also wrestled on day two, facing 64-year old wrestling legend Ricky Morton.
Dan the Dad tweeted:
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, whose wife Renee Young had previously tested positive for Covid-19, headlined day three of the event. NWA star Homicide also appeared on the final day of The Collective, as did Major League Wrestling star Davey Boy Smith Jr.
A recent study by University College London found that 86% of those infected with Covid-19 did not have a cough, temperature of loss of taste or smell, while 77% of carriers tested showed no symptoms at all, highlighting how important it is for those potentially exposed to the virus at the event to get tested.
