The COVID-19 crisis has changed a lot in professional wrestling, even faster than normal in a business that changes at the blink of an eye. One of those changes included pulling someone from a scheduled angle on last night’s NXT Halloween Havoc.
According to Ringside News, Indi Hartwell was scheduled to be revealed as the person who helped Johnny Gargano win the North American Title from Damien Priest, along with nearly helping Candice LeRae win the Women’s Title. Dave Meltzer was the one who revealed this news on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“As far as I know the only talent that was booked for the show who wasn’t there was Indi Hartwell who was gonna do a run-in — in fact, it’s gonna come out in theory, the person in the Scream mask that helped Candice LeRae was supposed to be Indi Hartwell, and may end up being called Indie Hartwell because she never unmasked and the idea was for her to unmask as Indi Hartwell, but she wasn’t there it was somebody else under the thing.”
Hartwell under the mask makes sense given recent interactions with the Garganos. Considering their mystery assistant didn’t unmask last night, they can still reveal her under the mask at a later date.
