Anyone watching NXT these days knows Santos Escobar’s Legado Del Fantasma faction is about honoring the culture and tradition of lucha libre, so it’s no surprise Escobar wanted to pay tribute to one of the greatest luchadors of all time.
On Escobar’s Instagram, he revealed and thanked Rey Mysterio for allowing him to pay tribute to him by wearing gear based on his famous Halloween Havoc 1997 match against Eddie Guerrero. This isn’t the first time a superstar has worn gear based on that outfit and mask, as Seth Rollins also wore gear based on the outfit at Summerslam earlier this year.

It remains obvious that Mysterio has inspired several on today’s roster. Santos Escobar seems to not only be inspired by Mysterio, but now wants to carry the torch of Mysterio in the Cruiserweight division.
