Things change on a dime in the WWE. Whether it’s injuries, the current Covid-19 pandemic, or just a shift in creative direction, change happens quickly.
A major factor in the shift of creative direction is Vince McMahon. The Chairman has final say in the presentation of his product, and obviously he has his favorites which get a favorable presentation on WWE programming. And now we know who his favorites are.
Vince doesn’t play his hand as to who his favorites are on a regular basis. Vince has been known to change his mind frequently, evidenced by the stop and start push of stars throughout the years. At least, for now, we know who his current favorites just might be.
A tenured member of the WWE creative team spoke exclusively to Ringside News who has knowledge of Vince’s mindset said the list is actually pretty short. He said that “with the exception of Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, Street Profits, and New Day, Vince doesn’t seem to like anything or anyone.” For those curious, Big E would be included in the New Day as listed here. Vince has shown affinity for other talent, but these seem to be the only talents Vince is 100% behind.
Their report went on to state that as of their writing around 4:30p Eastern, the script for tonight’s Smackdown still is not 100% finalized. We reported earlier that the script as of this morning was going terribly.
