Update On Heath Slater After Injury At Bound For Glory

Heath Slater was injured at Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory last weekend, and it forced them to change the results of a match on the fly. He was scheduled to win the Call Your Shot battle royal, but the stipulation stated that if he or Rhino won the match, Heath would be awarded an Impact contract. Despite being injured mid-match, an audible was called and Rhino won, allowing the storyline to proceed as planned.

Now we have an update on Slater’s injury.

Slater took to Instagram to update fans on his condition, letting us know that he had initially been diagnosed with a hernia. However, after seeing a hernia specialist, he got a different diagnosis.

The former 3MB member suffered a partially torn abductor muscle, which was torn off the bone. He was told surgery wasn’t needed, but that hasn’t stopped him for being in a great deal of pain.

This is the moment I knew I was screwed. After two doctors telling me that my injury was a severe inguinal hernia, I made an appointment with a hernia specialist. . . OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS: partially torn abductor muscle (from the bone) and a slight tear in my groin. . RECOVERY: luckily no surgery, just gotta suck it up and deal with the pain for a while. Lots of rest, ice, physical therapy (I’m coming for you @nmotion_pr #recovery #badluck #rebuild #hurting #outfornow #butnotforever

Though he did not give a timetable on his return, Heath can take solace that he’s officially employed.
