Cody Runnels, best known as Cody/Cody Rhodes, had reportedly filed for multiple trademarks last November; two of these trademarks were for “Slamboree” and “The Match Beyond.” WCW properties which would technically be WWE’s since they bought the company.
Michael E. Dockins, the man synonymous for filing trademarks for AEW and a majority of the talent, filed an “express abandonment” request to withdraw the trademark filings for “Slamboree” and “The Match Beyond” on October 28th this year.
This means they will no longer be chasing after those specific trademarks, likely due to opposition from the WWE.
