NJPW Best of Super Juniors 2020 Competitors Revealed

New Japan Pro Wrestling has been trying to make sure the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t stop them from putting on their annual events. The G1 Climax was held later than normal this year, and now this year’s Best of the Super Juniors will be happening now that the company has resumed holding shows.

At the 11/2 Road to Power Struggle event, the company announced this year’s participants for the truncated tournament. Previous years have had two blocks, but this year’s round robin tournament will only feature one block with ten participants. This year’s competitors will be as follows.

Taji Ishimori (IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion)
El Desperado (IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion)
Yoshinobu Kanemaru (IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion)
Hiromu Takahashi (2018 BoSJ Winner)
Ryusuke Taguchi (2012 BoSJ Winner)
Master Wato
SHO
Robbie Eagles

Only Master Wato is a first time competitor in this year’s field, one that is in short supply of the usual foreign talent they bring in for the event outside Eagles. However, NJPW also announced the Super J Cup, featuring foreign talent as well. You can watch the reveal video below.
