Maxwell Jacob Friedman is one of All Elite Wrestling’s top heels. One of the reasons he’s found himself as a top villain is skills on the mic that few people can match.
MJF rarely gets out of the persona in public, making anything from blatant to passive aggressive remarks at those who come at them, be them fan or wrestler. However, Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful did his best to get MJF do something you rarely see him do in public.
Say nice things about people.
In the interview he did, where he also discusses this weekend’s match against Chris Jericho at Full Gear, Sapp tried listing people in the AEW atmosphere for MJF to say nice things about. Needless to say, it was interesting.
One of the people MJF was asked about was Sammy Guevara, who he’s scheduled to face this week on Dynamite in a tag team match. It was here he revealed he thinks Guevara has future World Champion written all over him.
“How can you not love Sammy? You know some people might say he’s talentless. Some people might say he’s wildly short and scrawny. Some people might say he looks like he sells Adderall to middle schoolers. I wouldn’t say that. I think Sammy Guevara is wildly talented. I think Sammy Guevara is great on the microphone. I think Sammy Guevara is great in the ring. I think Sammy Guevara is a future AEW World Champion. I love Sammy Guevara. To all those people who say he’s a creepy little trollish looking Justin Bieber Dollar Store wanna be, I say to you—How dare you? ‘Cause Sammy’s my friend.”
