AEW Dark: Top 5 Must Watch Matches From Ep. 59
The November 3rd edition of Dark provided some great match ups, continued stories and entertained fans but who stood out the most?
Which stood out as the top 5 matches?
#5 The Acclaimed vs Aaron Solow and Angel Fashion
Recently signed Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, The Acclaimed, earned their first AEW win against the winless Aaron Solow and Angel Fashion. Solid performance from all four men but attention naturally goes to the winners of the bout. I wouldn’t expect a big push immediately but they certainly will pick up more wins in the future.
#4 Dark Order’s John Silver, “X” & Colt Cabana vs Shawn Dean, Cezar Bononi & Fuego Del Sol
Dark Order provide so many different layers to AEW. Comedy, seriousness, great matches and stories from top to bottom. Through Silver and Cabana, several stories are incorporated into a match which was very, very good. All the men in this match were awesome.
#3 JungleBoy & Luchasaurus vs Danny Limelight & KC Navarro
The returning Limelight teamed up with the brother of Diamanté, KC Navarro, against Jurassic Express’ Luchasaurus and JungleBoy. To put it bluntly, this was one of the best tag matches on the show. The cohesiveness of the Jurassic Express is incredible, future champions without question.
#2 Chaos Project vs Private Party
The reason why in I said that the match in #3 was “one of the best” is because this was the best tag match of the night and came close to being my #1. Serpentico and Luther have found such an interesting yet effective partnership and facing against the exciting team Private Party was only going to bring the best out of the two teams. This match had a bit of everything and that’s really what AEW is all about.
#1 Sammy Guevara vs Lee Johnson
Both men were excellent in this match. Great back and forth, mutual respect shown as well as disrespect, chops and a few high flying moments. These two are going to do great things in AEW. Smooth as hell and looked effortless for a majority of the match from both wrestlers. Tremendous.
Honourable mentions:
Butcher & Blade vs Jersey Muscle- Mainly for the ending concerning the Natural Nightmares but the match was solid. Butcher and Blade are one of the most consistently solid teams in AEW and Jersey Muscle’s speed helped make the match even more solid.
Dark Order’s Evil Uno & Stu Grayson vs Baron Black & Nick Comoroto– I have said it before, Uno and Greyson are fantastic. Comoroto and Black did really well, providing an interesting dynamic to challenge the Dark Order’s unity. Dark Order will likely be in title contention again soon.
Kilynn King vs Lei’d Tapa– KiLynn King has lost the “0” on her singles record in this fight, now moving to 1-12. Wins are usually a sign of somebody staying with the promotion and fans have taken a liking to her. Great match and some excellent moves.
Frankie Kazarian vs Ryzin- Solid singles match, an aggressive Ryzin locked horns with a totally focused Frankie Kazarian, who’s on a little bit of an roll right now. Crisp performance from both.
Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr vs Sean Maluta & Alex Chamberlain- Pillman and Garrison have found something special and they get better and better each week. Maluta and Chamberlain are both excellent wrestlers, their abilities along with Pillman and Garrison’s made this quite a diverse match. If delivered on multiple levels. Their slow rise continues.
Every match on this card was good or solid, with a few gems thrown in. Great episode overall.
