Several WWE Superstars Say They Were Not Tested For COVID-19 Until Visiting AEW PPV
COVID-19 has changed protocols throughout the world. Whether it’s our day to day lives or professional wrestling, testing, masks, and social distancing are the new normal.
Several unnamed WWE stars didn’t realize how pro wrestling had changed until he attended Double or Nothing.
In a report by Fightful Select, several WWE superstars visited AEW’s Double or Nothing pay per view in May and got their very first COVID-19 test. Tony Khan had discussed a lot of their COVID-19 protocols in a Sports Illustrated interview and discussed how he had tightened up restrictions on AEW talent working independent wrestling shows.
When discussing AEW COVID protocols with several AEW names, several told us that WWE stars visiting All Elite Wrestling for Double or Nothing in May actually claimed they got their first coronavirus tests from AEW the weekend of Double or Nothing, because otherwise they weren’t permitted at the events or functions.
The WWE didn’t start their company wide testing until June, so a story like this matches up. It is worrying to think how far behind WWE was in terms of testing their talent however.
