WWE Fires Tony Chimel And Others
Earlier this year, WWE made several cuts to their employee list due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now it seems like more of the behind the scenes people have been let go as well. We can add one well known name to that list.
WWE let Tony Chimel and several more staff go on Friday, with PWInsider reporting the number is around 10-15. The long time announcer best known for his trademark introduction of Edge had been working behind the scenes lately. According to the PWInsider report, that seems to be the case for the layoffs.
There have been additional staff let go from World Wrestling Entertainment on Friday, mostly logistical and behind the scenes staff working out of Stamford, CT. One source believed it was 10-15 staffers in total.
Chimel was a popular ring announcer and he will certainly be missed by his peers and the WWE audience.
