Potential Spoiler On Sasha Banks’ Role On The Mandalorian
One of the big notes from Season 2 of The Mandalorian on Disney+ is the appearance of Sasha Banks as a guest star. Though The Boss teased it on Twitter, excitement picked up when Banks was shown in the trailer for season 2. If you don’t want to be spoiled, you may want to stop reading at this point.
Banks is theorized to be playing popular character Sabine Wren, one that was a major character in the animated “Star Wars: Rebels” series. If this is the case, Banks will be playing a major role in Season 2 of the show. The character has strong ties to the Darksaber, a weapon wielded currently by Moff Gideon, who seems to be one of the season’s main antagonists.
One of Wren’s calling cards is grafitti and many promotional images feature it in the background, along with the character having strong ties to Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze, two characters strongly speculated by reliable sources to be appearing in season 2. Wren gifted the Darksaber to Kryze in the Rebels series, so there is a story to tell about how the artifact went from Kryze to Gideon. Another key point is Wren is a native of Mandalore and Wren is one of the major houses on the planet.
Many reliable sources have been proven right so far as they reported Temuera Morrison reprising his role as Boba Fett from the prequels to the original trilogy, and they have reported on Katee Sackhoff reprising her role as Kryze from the animated series. They’ve also reported Rosario Dawson arriving on the show as Ahsoka Tano, another character with strong links to Wren.
While there are no firm details on Banks’ official role or what to expect, there are plenty of signs Banks is heading to play this character and she has a major role in Star Wars lore and potentially the plot of the series. Many sources say that Wren has a major part in the story being told based on pre-existing Star Wars lore.
