Trevor Murdoch Would Like To Form A Trio With FTR
One of the more pleasant surprises of Billy Corgan’s revival of the NWA has been the career renaissance of Trevor Murdoch. The former 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion has had a successful run with the company and is their current National Champion.
The 20-year veteran recently spoke with The Angle podcast and he was asked about the potential of defending his title in AEW like Serena Deeb and Thunder Rosa have done with the NWA Women’s Title, and Murdoch definitely seemed open to the idea, along with an unexpected one.
“I can definitely see myself doing that for a couple of shots. I would really like to work with FTR whether it be tagging with them or tagging against them. I think we can really create some amazing matches. I’ve actually contacted a couple of those guys. It’d be badass to have an old-school trio like the Freebird days. If that happens it’d be awesome.”
Murdoch clearly has some ideas of his own for an AEW run, and the working relationship Tony Khan and Billy Corgan have certainly leaves an idea like this within the realm of possibility, so we shall see if the National Championship ends up on AEW television sometime soon.
