Over the last few weeks, Kenny Omega has altered his ring entrance. Besides the dancers bringing out the brooms, Justin Roberts has been quick to remind people most, if not all of Omega’s accomplishments.
If you listen carefully, one of them is the fact he’s wrestled inside the Bojangles Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It’s such a small detail to be added to an illustrious list of accomplishments for Omega, and the fact it’s so small recently had Lance Storm ask about it on Twitter.
Can someone explain to me the North Carolina thing with @KennyOmegamanX entrance? Is it an inside joke or is there a connection I’m in aware of?
Thankfully Omega got back to Storm to clear it up.
Hate to share industry secrets but it’s a tribute to the Chicago Bulls and how they treated Michael Jordan making his entrance.
Omega’s entrances can have some interesting flavor at times. During the first year of Dynamite, Omega referenced popular video game Undertale in one of his entrances. If you’ve never seen a Bulls introduction during the Michael Jordan era, you can watch one from the 1997 NBA Finals below.
