More Details On Zelina Vega’s Release – Reason and Info On Her No Compete Clause (UPDATED)
The details keep pouring on Zelina Vega’s release, and now PWInsider has more details.
Despite fans wondering on social media if Vega’s thoughts on unionization were the cause of her release, Vega’s release actually stems from her ignoring the company’s band on third party activity. Vega not only did not want to hold up to it, but Vega went on to open up an OnlyFans account after the ban started being enforced.
Vega, like other released talent in the past, has a 90-day no compete clause and cannot appear on television until February 2021.
Vega was informed late this afternoon that she was being released before tonight’s Smackdown taping. As we noted earlier, she would be under the traditional 90 day non-compete window, which would keep her from working televised promotions through mid-February 2021.
Vega’s release has a lot of people outside WWE scratching their heads why they would release a talent that many feel was nothing but an asset to the company. She will no doubt attract interest from many promotions in this time.
UPDATE: WrestleVotes has reported that there’s a lot going on with the release. While they’ve reported that this may not be directly tied to the news, Aleister Black recently requested a move back to NXT and was denied. It seems that the married couple and the WWE are NOT on the same page at the moment.
