NXT Star Considered To Be Improving By Peers
WWE NXT has been a great landing spot for some of the best names from independent wrestling as they transition to the WWE. It has also been where some relatively unknown names have moved and become houshold names.
Guys like Adam Cole and Roderick Strong came in with famous pedigrees, but NXT has helped build the reputation of Bronson Reed and Chad Gable during his time. NXT had a “Brass Ring” series recently, a period of time where they asked “dozens of WWE wrestlers and staffers” who was working hard to improve, the information was cross referenced, and one NXT time came up often enough to be viewed as one of the few working hard to improve.
According to Fightful Select, that performer is Dexter Lumis.
Dexter Lumis was one of the few NXT names that was mentioned as working hard to improve, based on our Brass Ring series.
The report on Lumis said his name was brought up prior to his push on NXT television, and it was based on his “willingness to work to get on the show to begin with.”
Despite an injury, Lumis has “delivered in the opportunity he was given” according to several people who were asked. They also praised him for not giving up on himself or the character given to him for NXT, and it’s shown. Lumis’ screen time has increased and his unique personality on air has started to help build him for bigger and better things.
