The announcement of Zelina Vega’s release was strangely timed on social media. She tweeted out “I support unionization” on her account and 10 minutes later the company tweeted out the message on her release.
Many fans quickly connected the dots to the idea that Vega was fired for her thoughts on unionization. This is not the case.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling has reported that the release was already known about internally before her tweet and was not the cause of her release. Though it’s possible her views on unionization and her desire to keep her Twitch channel and other ventures played a factor in her release as Dave Meltzer has speculated, the tweet played no part in it.
