WWE Will No Longer Use Old Schedule For Conducting Tours
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE had many plans for the year which they had to change. Touring was abruptly stopped and it seems it will undergo a change.
As reported by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Superstars have been informed by the company that “the old way of touring is not coming back.” This is a permanent change and will be how tours will be conducted from henceforth.
This was told to Superstars who were negotiating their contracts with the company.
There is talent in WWE that has been told in recent contract negotiations that the old way of touring is not coming back, even if and when the country bounces back from COVID.
WWE released several employees who were responsible for the live events and other members of staff. Ten to fifteen employees including Tony Chimel were recently released. The company were able to save a considerable amount of money as they cancelled their live touring schedule.
It was also noted that WWE will not entirely cancel live events as house shows in Madison Square Garden can still be held at times.
