The WWE released Zelina Vega on Friday, and despite speculation from fans there was an official reason despite the external thought it had to do with Vega’s support of unionizing the talent. A move like that can be considered retaliation and opens up to a number of lawsuits that could be filed. However, a report that comes out today says WWE has an official reason that keeps them protected from legal battles.
Sports Illustrated has reported that WWE has said the official reason for releasing Vega was “breach of contract.” The company has instituted a policy that they cannot be on any third party platforms and while Vega left her Twitch channel, she opened up an OnlyFans account after the edict came down.
The report goes on to say that Vega backed WWE into a corner by opening her account and the decision was made to fire her after discussions with her about Twitch. The same night of her release, she tweeted her support of unionization, and she’s now resumed streaming on her Twitch channel.
