During Paul Heyman’s tenure as Raw’s Executive Director, he had plans to utilize several new talents. He even asked for talents to be called up from NXT like Dominik Dijakovic, Chelsea Green, Vanessa Borne, and Arturo Ruas.
Ruas had a couple of matches on NXT where he looked competitive but ultimately lost prior to his call up, then was briefly featured on Raw Underground during those segments. Highlighting his amateur wrestling background and his martial arts backgrounds in Jiu-Jitsu and capoeira, Ruas was also one of the talents WWE sent to EVOLVE during their partnership.
Ruas has now returned to the NXT brand, returning to the brand on last night’s show. He took on KUSHIDA in a losing effort. Ruas was listed as a talent that could be drafted in the 2020 WWE Draft pool, but wasn’t picked by either brand, and now he has returned to NXT.
