All 8 Competitors announced for Rev Pro’s South Side Championship Tournament

At the end of Epic Encounters 5 after an incredible Main Event Championship match between Champion Will Ospreay and Challenger RKJ, it was announced that Rev Pro Wrestling will hold a tournament for the South Side Championship. Over the past week Rev Pro have been announcing the competitors for tournament, now finally all competitors have been announced.

Dan Moloney

Moloney actually attacked Ospreay following the announcement of the tournament, almost as if he was staking a claim for a spot in the tournament. He was the first competitor to be announced for tournament and has recently also staked a claim as the Rev Pro franchise player. Moloney was undefeated in singles action for Rev Pro picking up big wins over the likes of Jeff Cobb, Clark Conners and Hikuelo, but his unbeaten streak came to an end at Epic Encounters 4 however at Epic Encounters 5 he made up for that loss defeating Sha Samuels.

Ricky Night Jr (RKJ)

The Second competitor announced for the tournament was the former number 1 contender Ricky Knight Jr, despite loosing against Ospreay at Epic Encounters 5, he still impressed. Prior to that match RKJ had been on a roll picking up wins over the likes of Connor Mills and even pinning Heavy weight champion Will Ospreay in a tag match at Epic Encounters 1. RKJ has recently moved up to the heavyweight division and has put on some muscle but has not lost a step in pace, could his speed provide him an advantage in this tournament.

Screwface Ahmed

Screwface Ahmed will be making his Rev Pro debut in this tournament, Ahmed made his name in the north of England for companies such as All Star Wrestling in Merseyside and currently mainly competing for North wrestling (NCL) based in Newcastle. Ahmed is a near 20 year veteran on the British Wrestling scene so he brings plenty of experience, plus the fact that he is making his debut for Rev Pro may give him edge as unknown to the regular Rev Pro competitors.

Rob Lias

Rob Lias makes his way back to the ring from the commentators position, having provided colour commentary for the last 5 Epic Encounters. Having come through the Rev Pro contenders division where he started 5 years ago, Rob Lias has also competed for Promotions such as Ultimate Pro Wrestling, The Wrestling League as well as Riptide Wrestling. He may have spent the last 5 events at the commentary desk but he should not be underestimated, Lias has always been known as a crafty competitor and could catch one or two by surprise.

Charlie Sterling

Charlie Sterling makes his return to Rev Pro having not competed for them since 2017, Sterling has plenty of pedigree as a 10 year veteran of the British Wrestling scene. Sterling has wrestled for some of the British Wrestling Scene’s biggest promotions including ICW (Insane Championship Wrestling), PCW (Preston City Wrestling) and most recently competing from promotions such as Pro Wrestling Chaos and OTT (Over The Top). When Rev Pro announced Charlie Sterling’s entry, they referred to Sterling as one of the most underrated Heavyweight’s in the UK.

Brenda White

Brendan White earned his way into the tournament after defeating Kenneth Halfpenny in a best of 5 series, making him the de-facto leader of the Rev Pro Contenders Division, which he only joined last year, previously competing for Dragon Pro and Attack Pro Wrestling. Brendan White has certainly impressed the Rev Pro management and this tournament could give him a chance to break free from the contenders Division.

Joel Redman

Joel Redman is former Rev Pro Tag Team champion alongside Mark Haskins but has not recently had the best of luck as a singles competitor, having recently picked up losses against Dan Moloney at Epic Encounters 2 and Mark Haskins at Epic Encounters 4. Redman will be looking to put that form behind him, he is extremely athletically gifted and is 15 year veteran of the British Wrestling scene and has held titles in plenty of promotions including NXT as a tag team champion performing as Oliver Grey teaming with Neville (Pac).

Chuck Mamabo

The final entrant announced for the tournament is Chuck Mambo, this will only be his 2nd appearance for Rev Pro but Mambo is a near ten year veteran, having competed for the likes of Progress Wrestling and Pete Dunne’s Attack Pro Wrestling. Chuck Mambo is the wild card of this tournament.

The double elimination tournament kicks off at Epic Encounters 6 on the 6th of December, The brackets for the tournament are yet to be announced.

Also announced for Epic Encounters 6 is a Women’s Championship match between champion Gisele Shaw and challenger Bobby Tyler.

A tag team match between Micheal Oku and Conner Mills facing Kenneth Halfpenny and Shaun Jackson.

Epic Encounters 6 which will be streaming free on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch on the 6th of December at 7pm GMT.
