They dress similar, they both have a high amount of charisma, and they have many similar mannerisms. Ricky Starks has often drawn comparisons to The Rock for those reasons, and instead of running from them, Starks has embraced it.
In his recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Starks discussed the comparisons and how he embraces it now because he knows he can use that as a starting point for some fans and show them he’s his own person.
“I should have been cast in that new biopic show that he has coming out. I’m not too sad or mad about the comparisons, right? I mean that’s cool to have that but I know at the end of the day who I pattern myself after if you even want to call it that. And I already know how my lineage is going to be moving forward. The comparisons won’t last my entire life. They just won’t. So if that’s the starter for how people see me right now and the intrigue is still there then I’m fine with that.”
Starks has a bright future in All Elite Wrestling. He’s a featured performer and he’s becoming one of the top acts in the company thanks to his role as part of Team Taz.
