Problems WWE Faces Moving ThunderDome To Tropicana Field
WWE is moving the ThunderDome out of the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida and taking it to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
WWE’s first event at Tropicana Field will be on December 10th as SmackDown kicks off their first ThunderDome show at their new home. Things will be a lot different for WWE inside Tropicana Field compared to their previous home inside the Amway Center.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s move to Tropicana Field was discussed. It was noted that WWE will be facing some interesting challenges that the company will have to work around. First being that the sound inside the stadium is said to be “awful.” Additionally it was noted that WWE could have issues with a large “colony of pigeons” that lives up in the stadiums dome roof.
“Regarding Tropicana Field, what we’ve been told is the stadium is huge and the sound is awful, although WWE can pipe stuff in and control that aspect. There is also a colony of pigeons who live in the Dome’s roof.”
WWE will be calling Tropicana Field home for their ThunderDome experience for several months. With the company using the stadium for such a lengthy period of time, the chances are pretty good that we could see some run-ins from the pigeons that call the dome home.
