AAA Lucha Libre held their official press conference for TripleMania XXVIII today, and we now have the details on the upcoming event. It has been confirmed to be taking place on December 12th at Arena Ciudad de Mexico. It will be an empty arena event, and AAA CEO Dorian Roldan thanked their sponsors for allowing the show to continue.
It was announced the show will air for free on Mexico TV and various social media platforms, allowing Americans a chance to view the show.
The trio of featured matches have been ones talked about for several weeks. Marvel-themed luchadors will meet in a tag team match with Leyenda Americana and Aracno meeting Terror Purpura and Venenoide, characters representing Captain America, Spider-Man, Thanos, and Venom respectively. We did get a good look at a couple of the masks not previously seen as well.
Long rumored but officially confirmed is Kenny Omega returning to AAA to defend the AAA Megachampionship against Laredo Kid, while the main event is the hair vs. hair match between former Impact star Pagano and Chessman.
AAA revealed they will stream the event on Facebook and YouTube, no confirmation on whether or not they will use their Twitch channel to stream the event.
AAA also confirmed that Rush would not be available for the card due to Ring of Honor commitments. Taya Valkyrie was rumoed to have a featured match on the show and AAA announced she would not be able to make it due to other commitments.
