WWE Might Consider Putting Matches Pitched For TLC On Free Television

WWE has a lot of irons in the fire as far as angles and potential feuds, but few locked in for TLC on December 20th. While four matches have been approved by Vince McMahon, several matches have had groundwork set for them. Some of them may wind up on the pay per view, and some of them may wind up being given out on Raw and Smackdown.

The only official match now is AJ Styles against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, but the other four are waiting to be announced officially. Now Ringside News has reported some of the matches being built up may end up on free television. They were told that a match between The Street Profits and the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode is likely for the pay per view “unless [they] give it away on TV like [they] do a lot.”

They spoke with a tenured member of the creative team that also mentioned Sami Zayn defending the Intercontinental Title against Big E is likely for the pay per view, but could be put on television. The idea for this is that if it’s not been announced for the pay per view, it could be held earlier to help boost ratings.

Situations like this are all very fluid. An injury or something could cause any of this to change. However, as the build for the TLC continues and with limited spots as always for the show, it should be interesting to see what is saved for television and what is on pay per view.
