Pat Patterson’s passing has affected several people in the professional wrestling industry. Today, several of them have taken to social media to explain the influence he has had on their lives and careers, and Aleister Black is no different.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Black talked about how Patterson praised he and Cesaro after a match the two had and talked about how high he held that praise.
After competing against @wwecesaro at Extreme Rules and on Smackdown. Pat walked over to us, took us aside for a quick second and expressed how much he enjoyed seeing us compete against each other, he praised us for our physicality and intensity. He made a fist and looked up and said “that’s how it done, two athletes beating the sh*t out of each other: Pro Wrestling!” It is some of the highest praise I have ever gotten, especially coming from someone who’s contribution to the business is so extensive and ground breaking. RIP Mr Patterson, and thank you for the shot of confidence.
Black is just one of many people proving that Patterson left an indeliable mark on the industry, and his story is no doubt just one of many we will hear today.
