AEW’s tag team division is one of the deepest in the industry, and the division keeps getting larger as they sign and develop talent.
One of the newest teams the company has put together is Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, now known as The Acclaimed. The duo was announced in a mutual reveal on social media and announced as The Acclaimed. Since then, the duo has been a staple of Dark, building momentum as the duo continues to build chemistry. That work seems to be paying off, as it now seems AEW has big plans for the duo.
The pair wasn’t a team initially, so they have needed time to develop their persona together. Tony Khan decided to put them together after watching them, and it’s clear he’s high on both talents.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, the Acclaimed was discussed:
“The Acclaimed is a team that Khan put together after seeing both guys do tryout matches, and they signed them. People who have seen them on Dark are pretty high on them, and they wouldn’t put them on Dynamite so early if they weren’t high on them for down the road.”
Dynamite was big this week, so even the smaller things that would have normally managed to catch a lot of attention were dwarfed by the big events like Sting’s arrival and the crowning of a new World Champion. The Acclaimed’s first appearance on Dynamite may have seemed small compared to that, and rightfully so, but it’s a sign for bigger and better things to come for the duo.
