Exclusive: Additional Details On Potential AEW And Impact Wrestling Partnership
One of the biggest new stories in recent memory is the potential working agreement between AEW and IMPACT wrestling.
Wrestling Inc. has reported that “Impact and AEW is not currently scheduled to be that intertwined,” and that Omega’s appearance this Tuesday on Impact will be a one-off. It’s also being reported that The Good Brothers “will likely come to AEW for one match as well.”
In addition, we were told by our sources that Chris Jericho has also supported working with other companies. More specifically New Japan, as the #2 company in the world and Impact Wrestling, as a long-standing secondary televised U.S. program with a much larger international presence that exists domestically.
We were also told that “there is universal realization that “invasion angles” rarely go well for all but one party.” So, it is more likely the focus will be on competition or rivalry without a full-on “other company invasion”.
It has also been understood as Gallows and Anderson were exiting their WWE contract and overtures were made by Impact and AEW, as they expressed their interest in working with multiple companies. You can see the support they’ve received in creating Talk N’ Shop A Mania, that has featured talent from both AEW and Impact.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about AEW working with other wrestling promotions.
