Independent Wrestler Owen Travers Arrested For Sexual Assault Against A Minor
Independent wrestler Owen Travers (real name John Washington) has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child.
The former enhancement talent for RoH, WWE, and Impact was arrested on November 25 on three counts of sexual assault against a child under 16, two counts of lewdness with a child under 14, and three counts of lewdness with a child 14 or 15 according to court records.
Using the name Owen Travers, Washington worked the WWE in 2018 as enhancement talent in a tag team match against Shane McMahon and The Miz, and made his Impact debut last year against Johnny Swinger.
The ongoing investigation by Las Vegas police has revealed Washington may have had access to additional victims. He was arrested and released on his own recognizance and placed on what they call “high level” house arrest.
As a condition of his release, Washington is allowed to work, “but he must disclose to his employer these pending charges,” say the court records. He must also not have any contact with minors.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 21st. Information on the arrest was found in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
