Sting Reportedly Unhappy With Treatment He Received In WWE
Sting’s debut shocked a lot of people this week, but it also really didn’t come as much of a surprise. While Sting’s contract with WWE was never officially announced as having ended, nor was a release announced, the writing was on the wall.
A new action figure for Sting was canceled after a prototype was revealed, in addition to Sting’s merchandise being quietly removed from WWE Shop last month. Moves like that certainly create a lot of speculation, and it turned out to be true.
In a new report from WrestleTalk, one thing to take from Sting’s time in WWE was how unhappy he was with the way the company treated him. A big factor in this was how Sting had pushed hard to do a cinematic match with The Undertaker, something the WWE was against according to the Wrestling Observer. Despite the match being something Sting pushed for and something the fans were very all for, “it has never been a match that appealed to [Vince] McMahon.”
While Sting will not reportedly be taking any bumps due to his health, he is expected to be a full time character on Dynamite going forward, signing with the company because he wants “to do something good” for the fans for his final full-time gig.
While Sting may not be a physical presence in an AEW ring, what he will deliver could benefit in terms of ratings, of knowledge, and who knows what else.
