Tonight’s War Games features the next chapter in a rivalry that has started to build between Pat McAfee and Adam Cole. Their rivalry has featured some incredibly great promos from both men and a surprisingly fun match between the two earlier this year.
Adam Cole won’t be coming alone tonight. His partners in The Undisputed Era will team up for their fourth War Games match against Pat McAfee’s Kings of NXT group of himself, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan. Cole took some time before tonight’s match to talk to WWE’s The Bump to talk about McAfee. While he’s given the former NFL punter credit for the skills he brings to the table, he’s also talked about how much he genuinely hates him.
“Pat McAfee is an incredible athlete. He has the gift of gab. He’s charismatic. He has all these things — he’s also incredibly hateable. I can’t stand — there is nobody in my NXT career who I’ve disliked more than Pat McAfee. It felt good. It felt great to kick him square in the face, my god!”
McAfee definitely has a factor that makes him easy to hate when you watch him. In fact, CM Punk thinks the NXT roster should be embarrassed how McAfee is outdoing the roster when it comes to promos.
Love him or hate him, McAfee is slowly becoming a force in NXT and Adam Cole will be trying to get his hands on him tonight.
