War Games is the kind of match where injuries are bound to happen. The Women’s match saw a potential severe injury as it has been reported Candice LeRae may have suffered a broken arm or wrist during the match. The men themselves were banged up when Oney Lorcan was tended to after the match. Thankfully, we got an update on Lorcan today.
One of his teammates gave an update of their own as Pat McAfee took to his radio show today to talk about his status.
In only McAfee’s second match in NXT, he may have provided one of the more shocking moments of the night as he dove off the top of a cage with a senton bomb that shocked everyone. It was a shocking performance from a man who has incredibly little professional wrestling experience.
McAfee was definitely sore this morning and updated his listeners and fans on his condition. Wearing a neck brace, McAfee didn’t just update fans, but issued a threat to The Undisputed Era that his business with them wasn’t done yet.
“If you’re watching along, you might see me in a neck brace. This is not an overreaction. I’m awaiting results on tests I got earlier today. My whole body, to see what was broken and what’s not broken. I couldn’t really get out of bed this morning, couldn’t move, couldn’t walk. I figured it was a potential opportunity for my entire body to be broken after NXT Takeover: WarGames. It was a hell of a match, hell of a show. My guys and I ended up losing to the scumbags that are Undisputed Era. I’m not happy about it. This neck brace is only for precautionary reasons. I’m sitting up a little more in my seat because I should probably be sitting on a donut right now. I believe I’ll be standing a lot today, because sitting down I already feel pain in my neck, my back and my hip. I only have sandals on, because I couldn’t put shoes on because I believe I broke my big toe. We did not go down without a fight. Next time we get our hands on them, THEY’LL BE THE ONES WEARING THE NECK BRACES! YEAH!”
Both of McAfee’s performances have been highlights of their respective TakeOver shows, so the potential of McAfee getting in the ring one more time is definitely interesting. Let’s just hope he rests up first and foremost. You can watch his show below.
