Social media can be a pretty toxic place sometimes.
Other times, it can be pretty hilarious as it was in this case. Washington’s NFL team used pro wrestling in a great way to garner a few laughs and puff up their chest to put over their victory over the now formerly undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.
Using one of NXT’s most iconic clips of the last couple of years involving Keith Lee pouncing Adam Cole into the stands, along with some creative editing, the Washington Football team garnered quite a reaction from fans of NXT and their own team. In fact, the team may have referenced Adam Cole a couple of times celebrating their victory, leading Baker to scoff at their Twitter usage last night.
The team also attracted the attention of AEW’s Britt Baker. The girlfriend of Adam Cole and Pittsburgh native is a Steelers fan who felt that tweet in a way few could. By the end of her reactions, it was pretty clear Baker would like to see the Steelers Twitter team step up their game for their superfan.
