CM Punk has never been shy about the secrets he’s revealed or the things he’s said since leaving the WWE.

The Second City Saint was a recent guest on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, where Punk talked about several things. Besides talking about how he was open to returning to pro wrestling if the scenario was interesting enough, he wound revealing several other things on that podcast.

One of these things matches up with a story Lisa Marie Varon revealed recently about the WWE front office witholding outside projects from other stars. However, Punk took this story to a whole different level, alleging that one Superstar was offered a role on a television show that WWE rejected only for them to turn around and give the role to Cena. Punk said this wasn’t an uncommon practice by the WWE.

“One particular person got a role playing a wrestler because they knew somebody who was producing a television show for this certain channel and then when it got shuffled to the office, it was like ‘No you can’t do that’ and the next thing you know John Cena is doing it.”

He added to this that they would “literally take every single request that came through and they would funnel it to the one person they wanted to be the face of the company.”

He added another story about a time he went to a bachelor party that had the guy giving the tour telling them they wanted Punk on the WrestleMania pinball machine, but WWE told them no because they wanted someone else.

Punk also revealed that the WWE didn’t want him on the cover of their video game, but THQ pushed hard for Punk to be on the cover, eventually getting their way.

Stories like these certainly make Punk’s acrimonious relationship with the company a little more understandable, but as always, it’s open to interpretation.
