One of the more pleasant surprises in AEW has been the arrival of Alex Reynolds and John Silver.
The Dark Order’s “Recruitment Specialists” came to AEW and racked up the losses until the two drank the Kool-Aid and joined the Dark Order as 3 and 4 respectively, but they had no idea that’s where things were going at the time of their AEW arrival. In fact, their expectations against reality were way different as they talked about on AEW Unrestricted this week.
“We’re like, ‘Oh my god! This is our big shot, our big opportunity,’ and then we get there and it doesn’t even say our names on the board. It says ‘local talent.’ It said, ‘90 Seconds.’ So we’re like, ‘Ok, I guess this is a one and done,’ but then Matt Jackson came up to us after: ‘I’ve got an idea. Maybe you just kind of come back, and you’re the local talent everywhere, and you just always lose.’”
What wound up happening with Reynolds and Silver certainly ended better than what they may have expected. However you want to look at it, the two Dark Order members have taken those 90 seconds originally given to them and turned it into a huge opportunity for two top talents.
