On last night’s edition of NXT UK during the debut of the Supernova 11 Sessions hosted by Noam Dar, Tyler Bate would make his return to NXT UK and his debut in the new BT Studios.
Noam Dar hosted his brand new segment for NXT UK the Supernova 11 Sessions from his built in set in the BT studios adjacent to the ring.
Dar’s first guest was none other than the first ever winner of the NXT UK Heritage cup A-Kid.
Noam Dar would start off by saying that people have it confused, claiming that he is not A-Kid’s rival but that he has always been A-Kid’s mentor, his teacher, his sensei and that he had taken him under his wing. As the segment went on Dar would continue claiming that he was proud of his student for winning the UK Heritage Cup and followed up by saying that A-Kid was no longer a ‘kid’ and dubbed him A-Man.
A-Kid would finally stand up to shut Noam Dar up, going on to state that Dar was not his teacher and that he did not try to help him, that there was only one man who did stand up to help him learn and make him a better competitor and that was Tyler Bate. Noam Dar would then cut him off as tried to claim that he knows Tyler and as he goes to make some disparaging comments Tyler would make himself known heading out to set.
Tyler would congratulate A-Kid on winning the tournament but made a comment about wishing he had been in the tournament himself. Dar would try to twist Bate’s words, trying to cause tension between the two, telling Kid that what Bate had said was that if he’d been in the tournament he would’ve won, he would try to get the two to agree to a match up later on that night, with the Heritage Cup on the line.
Stating that he would personally speak to Johnny Saint and in the end he is able to convince both of them to agree to the contest later on in the evening.
A-Kid and Tyler would go on to have an incredible back and forth match, in which Tyler Bate would get the first fall in the 3rd round with a roll up and getting the pin fall. A-Kid would fight his way back into the match and was able to score a pinfall in the 5th round, with an incredible spring board flipping DDT. In the 6th round A-Kid was able to score the decisive pin fall when he reversed a roll up attempt, managing to roll Tyler in to pinning predicament and winning the match 2 falls to 1, retaining the Heritage Cup.
Tyler Bate was the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion winning the inaugural United Kingdom Championship tournament, he also held the NXT Tag Team titles alongside long time friend and mentor Trent Seven.
Tyler had been absent from television since NXT UK returned back in August this year, it is great to see the young superstar back in NXT UK and I’m sure big things await the him and NXT UK.
