Darren Young Says AEW Rejected Him Twice
Darren Young is a name that hasn’t been heard often in pro wrestling lately.
The former WWE Superstar got his first break with the company as a member of The Nexus before a semi-successful member of the Prime Time Players with Titus O’Neil before a failed singles push where he had Bob Backlund as his manager. Eventually Young was released in 2017 and has been working the independent scene in addition to being part of the New Japan shows on New Japan World based out of the LA Dojo.
Recently, Young (now using his real name Fred Rosser) was asked on social media why he hasn’t made the move to All Elite Wrestling. His honesty on social media was revealing, telling fans he had actually tried to make the jump not once, but twice. Rosser was rejected each time, but he revealed that AEW has never been the goal. Instead, the goal was always New Japan.
Young revealed he signed with NJPW back in August and has been a part of their NJPW Strong shows.
