More Information On NXT India And Further Expansion

There was a lot of talk earlier this week about the WWE launching NXT India, and it seems like we have more news on it thanks to a new report by Sportskeeda.

The WWE has been looking to start the brand at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando due to the travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic. The website has also reported that the potential launch date for the brand could be January 26th, 2021 which is Republic Day in India.

The initial event will reportedly feature Jinder Mahal, The Singh Brothers, Indus Sher, Jeet Rama, and one or more of the three recruits the company signed after tryouts in Mumbai.

There is also talk that if the world can normalize in a timely fashion, there could be a WWE Performance Center in India by the year 2022.

This would be the next step in a larger expansion across the globe, as WWE would like to build an NXT Asia brand with talents from Japan, China, and Singapore. The report says that it will be a focus area for the WWE going forward, as their source believes the WWE wants to consolidate that market due to AEW having a strong presence in Asia and the vast potential that can be tapped.
